Boots-on-the-Ground" Project
Our "Boots on the Ground" project began in 2014 when Linley witnessed a man remove his boots at a soup kitchen and take the plastic bags, he had on to keep his feet dry, off his feet. She noticed the boots he was wearing had holes not only on the top, but throughout the soles. It was winter in Russia with temperatures at -20° F (-29°C). NLLB is constantly watching to find ways to make life just a little better for the individual.

Many of the laborers, in big cities in Russia, come from neighboring countries or from remote area. They come for low salaries and cannot afford a pair of good quality work boots that would cost around $150.

The first man who received a pair of boots from NLLB wept - standing in the middle of a shoe store sobbing. He had never been inside a shoe store; buying his shoes on the street from vendors in the past. He had no idea how to choose or how to try on shoes. He was ashamed at his socks which had big holes. We bought him socks and shoes. The lovely shot assistant was so kind and helpful.
