There is a small boarding facility on an island in Indonesia built of bamboo that provides for high school education for 161 students. The "shacks" were built by the villagers and the local priest so that young people could attend high school. The priest rents rooms from the local elementary school and the students help cook meals. Each student is asked to bring 20 kg of rice/month (they eat rice only 5 days a week) and rice w/tiny salted fish 2 days a week). Tuition is $55 USD/year. As of 2018, students are required to sit their exams online and they are without computers. The priest and another teacher each have laptops and now NLLB has gotten a secondhand computer to them. This will allow for 3 students at a time to sit their exams!
