NLLB was invited to supply 60 scarf & slipper sets for an Arizona Apache
tribe elderly group for Christmas. We were able to complete our task on time
and want to thank those who helped make this happen (especially J. O'Brien)!
Diabetes and foot wounds are a significant issue with Native Americans and
we carefully chose open-back, high quality slippers that could be worn indoor or outdoor
for their added comfort. In the end, they requested only 35 sets, leaving us with 25
sets to find homes for. We were able to partner with a local Home Bound Feeding
program here in New Mexico who were thrilled to receive our scarves/slipper
sets. They serve over 30 home bound individuals and our sets were received with
great joy. NLLB is continuing reaching those in need....one person at a time.
We made one shawl/scarf matching set to be given to a couple. This lovely couple
were delighted to be the recipients of this set and the matching gray slippers.
To maintain privacy you cannot see their faces, but the smiles are heart warming!
