Rovin is a 16 yr. old boy in Indonesia that I met this past summer. He suffered 3rd degree burns to his body 4 years ago. Two family members were killed in the fire. The burns on Rovin's arm remained open and easily infected. NLLB was able to connect Rovin with Dr. Frank who performed surgery and skin grafts. After 4 years of suffering the pain of large open wounds, Rovin is on the road to healing! NLLB supplied Rovin with vitamins and milk powder to speed his healing. Burn wounds that are not healed for 5-10 years often become cancerous. We had to have biopsies done prior to surgery to make sure Rovin's wounds had not developed cancer. Rovin and his mother had to take a bus over 24 hours to get to the city for surgery. They made this trip back and forth many times. NLLB is thrilled that Rovin can now move on with his life without pain!
