15 years ago, NLLB got involved in a little girl's life who suffered a
3rd degree burn. Since receiving surgery at Shriners Hospital in the
USA, she dreamt of becoming a nurse. We have watched
her work hard in school and strive for a seemingly impossible dream.
During high school, she worked as a laundress after school in order
to help pay her boarding costs, while tuition was free. Coming from
a poor family in a remote area, her life has unfolded in ways that are
unbelievable. Recently, she graduated from a 3-year nursing school
in Indonesia and graduated top in her class. This program is far
below USA standards and due to Covid-19, she has had minimal clinical
experience. NLLB made it possible for her to attend, but she worked hard.
Natalia was recently accepted into an intense English program at University
of New Mexico with hopes to further her Nursing studies in the future.
She arrived a week ago and it was discovered that she has severe oral infection
with tooth decay, sinus infection and gum disease. Yesterday, we also discovered
she needs glasses. NLLB found a wonderful dentist who is donating much of her work.
We need your help to see that Natalia continues to be successful in
her studies. Please consider donating to NLLB toward Natalia's
future.
